The binding was a mess in that that the plastic spine that held the signatures of pages spilt in half after it had separated from the cloth holding onto the cover itself. She has undertaken a surprising mission, one that reveals the true potential of dreams. Though the lead character rules the Dreaming and our very sleep, The Sandman is about the concept of dreams more so than the act of dreaming. The book came in great condition and is beautiful. There are quite a few bonus features too, which for me is one of the main reasons I buy absolute. And despite enjoying certain portions of the series so much more than others, it cannot be said that Gaiman’s work here is anything other than tremendous.

These books are great, no bones about it, and these volumes are an excellent way to enjoy the story. A dream is more than just subconscious thought unleashed in a sleeping brain.

Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. What can I possibly add to the already tremendous chorus of praise for these books. Ok back to reading, it’s a real page turner! This was not aided by the childish artwork on the long-winded storyline of "The Kindly Ones," wherein, I could not keep track of the characters because I could not tell who they are from the artwork. This Absolute Sandman is just that, a breathtakingly beautiful edition (in 4 volumes) of Gaiman's epic masterpiece. The art and story is amazing, especially on the high quality, large paper. To be plain, when it comes to Sandman, I prefer Gaiman’s sparring to his real combat. As usal, the stuff that closes out the volume is nice. Whether you are an old fan or a newcomer, I can't recommend.

In its earliest issues, collected in Absolute Sandman, Morpheus was very much a part of the DC Universe.

As it evolved, the horror elements faded somewhat, particularly in the latter stages. It just lacks the beauty of some of its contained stories.

The more Gaiman I read, the more I love Gaiman. I am very happy with this volume; I plan on getting the whole set, plus probably some of the related work (i.e. The Sandman is about fables, both real and imagined. Can't wait for Volume 4! I admittedly have never read Sandman and am basically going in cold based on the stellar reviews and reputation and this actually seemed like one of the more price efficient ways to get started (albeit somewhat of a commitment).

And this may reflect more on me than on Gaiman’s text here. So much clearer. The way this arc brings together threads laid down in earlier stories and twists, setting us up for what comes next. Love the absolute books. They choose the perfect exercises of the great masters. Now even bookish pharmacists are afraid to take on the great, imperfect, torrential works, books that blaze paths into the unknown.

With Absolute Sandman, I will never need another copy as they are simply beautiful.

The Dreamlord believes Shakespeare to be a man who can write tales that will be remembered for centuries and that will create furtive dreams for millions.
