Instead, the case is solved through patient, diligent investigative work by a team of cops, involving a lot of footwork, collaboration, probing, leaning on informers, petty criminals and suspects, and wandering down blind alleys. The press portrays it as a freak attack and dubs the killer a madman. It was of the type Leyland Atlantean and built in England, but constructed for the Swedish right-hand traffic, introduced two months before.

The investigation is long as the team struggle to find a motive until the unsolved cold case of another, apparently random, killing brings together the evidence that will solve both cases. Unfortunately, my library does not carry the print versions of this series, so I must continue with the audioseries.

The universal story of comradeship and doing something you feel is right but having to deal with people who bend things to suit thems.

A friend who is the one who told me about Sjowall and Wahloo just reread The Locked Room and enjoyed it again. I did however think the translation and proofing errors in the version I read, let it down a little.
